# QR code API & MCP server

Generate static QR codes from your own code or AI agent. Same promise as the site: codes contain your data directly and never expire. **Beta:** free tier is rate-limited; paid API keys are coming.

Errors return JSON `{"error","message"}` with 400, 401 (bad API key) or 429 (rate limited, see `Retry-After`).

## Limits and keys

- **Free:** no key, 60 requests per minute per IP.
- **Paid (coming soon):** send `Authorization: Bearer YOUR_KEY` for higher limits and editable codes.

## MCP server for AI agents

Remote MCP endpoint (streamable HTTP): `https://fixedqr.com/mcp`. Tool: `generate_qr` (same params as the REST API; returns a PNG image or SVG text).
